We can agree that Ubud is the heaven of animal park such as Bali Zoo, Ubud Monkey Forest, and now this—Bali Bird Park. It’s the home of hundreds of bird species from Indonesia and several other countries, you can even find the rarest bird species such as white peacock and palm cockatoo. Discover the beauty of Indonesian fauna richness.
We departed from our hotel in the downtown of Denpasar with our rented car from Nemob. Nemob is an online rental car service that is easy to use. For about 30 minutes, we able to reach Bali Bird Park without any trouble.
The entrance fee for locals are way cheaper than for the foreigners. For locals, the ticket admission for adult is IDR 80k while for children it’s IDR 40k. For foreigners, the adult ticket fee is about IDR 300k (USD 20) and IDR 150K (USD 10.5). There are several packages that were offered to have their tour through the park that includes food treats and particular exhibit access.
What fascinate me the most is the cleanliness that is well maintained through all areas in this park. It seems the staff were very experienced in their job. The birds that are exhibited are also seems healthy and clean. Some of them are able to walk freely or off-cage, such as peacock and cendrawasih. We can take photos and feed the birds without any additional fee. The endangered Bali Myna (Jalak Bali) is also exhibited here. This bird is almost come to an extinction in Indonesia. The Bali Bird Park is one of the way to conserve this animal.
Not only bird, there are several reptiles that is also exhibited in Bali Bird Park. You can find crocodile, komodo dragon, and various snakes. There is live-feeding of the komodo dragon, and some of the people might find it disturbing. To fully ecplore the park, you only need about 2,5 hours by walking.
Exploring Bali Bird Park is one of my best experience in Bali, and might as well come back to this place!
